Every Saturday we had been taking Little Man to Ice Skating lessons and were constantly wanting to try out some of the restaurants that surround the rink. We finally decided to check out Mi Cocina’s, and my goodness, I am glad we did! I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants, but this one was definitely the best I have had. After about a 20 minute wait, we were seated and like most Mexican restaurants brought some chips and salsa. They were kind enough to give each of us our own bowl of salsa, which was awesome because none of us wanted to share it was so good!
We also got some guacamole, but it was the Queso that was really delicious. It was creamy and had just enough kick to keep it interesting, but not overwhelming. They DO have a kids menu, so that’s always a huge plus for those of us that dine with children. The Little Man got a cheese quesadilla, while I ordered myself some Sunset Enchiladas. The enchiladas were the best I have ever had (after Ace’s homemade ones, of course). From the beans to the rice to the sauce that was poured over the enchiladas, everything was pretty much perfect.
Mellissa and Ace decided to get the same thing this time, which was the Prime Rib Fajitas. Anytime Mellissa enjoys her first bite enough to have her eyes open wide and lightly scream in delight, you know the food is good. Ace, however, was not quite as delighted with his meal as Mellissa. Dizzy got herself some tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. To boot, the service was great as well. It was a little crammed since it was in the mall, but they do have other locations throughout DFW and all of us would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good Mexican!
The price is fairly good, not cheap, but not expensive either.
